Book of Dreams

From the "Book of Dreams" [1987]
(poet 2o smtn yrs ld)

Interest in perception
Matter and Means of
Attaining all we believe or
Know of reality

What is perceived on a
Day to day basis is a routine
Of familiar sights, sounds, movements
And reaction to such stimuli

Outside the given realm
Of what is believed
Is a sent of what is
Beyond humble furnishings

Of known certainties there is a
Border to what is alien to
Understanding as we have
Come to know understanding

Our world is made of elements
Mundane and Living
The simple difference of life
And not living

Becomes increasingly apparent
As experience fills the senses
And all points of life are interconnected
Within this unique gift of living

[circa 1997]

[1999] NU

AT the beginning the world was a waste of water called Nu. and it was the abode of the Great Father. He was Nu, for he was the deep, and he gave being unto the sun god who hath said: "Lo! I am Khepera at dawn, Ra at high noon, and Tum at eventide". The god of brightness first appeared as a shining egg which floated upon the water's breast, and the spirits of the deep, who were the Fathers and the Mothers, were with him there, as he was with Nu, for they were the companions of Nu.
